WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PAINT A DONKEY TO LOOK LIKE A ZEBRA?
BURRITOS, OBVIOUSLY

Burro Zebra is a burrito shop bringing the flavors and style of northern Mexico to the center.

The brand itself captures the voice of today's urban Mexican—globalized yet culturally anchored. We paid homage to the infamous painted donkeys of Tijuana by translating them into a modern branding system based on stripes and the colors of the Mexican flag. While the bold branding already makes Burro Zebra stand out, we took it a step further by doing the opposite of what a typical Mexican food restaurant does. Instead of opting for tired, standard textures, organic lettering, and sombreros, we went sleek. The result? A fresh look and feel that can be spotted from a mile away.

Our 3-color system references another staple of Mexican culture as well—blankets. Our simple structure translated beautifully into motion graphics, swag, and additional branded touchpoints.

The Burro Zebra brand captures the voice of today's urban Mexican; globalized and culturally anchored.
